چکیده

Background and PurposeThis pilot study aims to describe the advantages of combining metabolic anatomic imaging modalities in brachytherapy (BT) planning for locally advanced cervical cancer (LACC) evaluate supplementary value Fluoro(F)-Choline positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) comparison 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) this setting.Materials MethodsA prospective cohort six patients with LACC was included study. Each patient underwent BT CT scan, magnetic resonance (MRI), both FDG F-Choline PET/CT scans on same day, applicators place. Patients were treated according standard care. Metabolic target volumes (TV) generated retrospectively compared using Dice coefficients absolute volume comparison.ResultsThe threshold at which most concordant found be 35% maximum standardized uptake (SUV max) scans. Amongst cohort, three four have more than ten percent ratio excess (increase) their MRI gross tumor (GTV) when incorporating information from However, no significant changes needed high risk-clinical (CTVHR) PET tracers.ConclusionsFDG can substantially modify GTV MRI, without affecting CTVHR. is potentially informative assessing residual TV, particularly cases post-radiation inflammatory changes.

Multiparametric [18F]Fluorodeoxyglucose/ [18F]Fluoromisonidazole Positron Emission Tomography/ Magnetic Resonance Imaging of Locally Advanced Cervical Cancer for the Non-Invasive Detection of Tumor Heterogeneity: A Pilot Study

OBJECTIVES To investigate fused multiparametric positron emission tomography/magnetic resonance imaging (MP PET/MRI) at 3T in patients with locally advanced cervical cancer, using high-resolution T2-weighted, contrast-enhanced MRI (CE-MRI), diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI), and the radiotracers [18F]fluorodeoxyglucose ([18F]FDG) and [18F]fluoromisonidazol ([18F]FMISO) for the non-invasive detec...

18F-Fluorodeoxyglucose Positron Emission Tomography/Magnetic Resonance in Lymphoma

Objectives: The aim of this study was to compare F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) positron emission tomography (PET)/magnetic resonance (MR) (with and without diffusion-weighted imaging [DWI]) to F-FDG PET/computed tomography (CT), with regard to the assessment of nodal and extranodal involvement, in patients with Hodgkin lymphoma and non-Hodgkin lymphoma, without restriction to FDG-avid subytpes. Imaging atherosclerotic plaque inflammation with [18F]-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography.

BACKGROUND Atherosclerotic plaque rupture is usually a consequence of inflammatory cell activity within the plaque. Current imaging techniques provide anatomic data but no indication of plaque inflammation. The glucose analogue [18F]-fluorodeoxyglucose (18FDG) can be used to image inflammatory cell activity non-invasively by PET. In this study we tested whether 18FDG-PET imaging can identify in...

[18F] Fluorodeoxyglucose positron-emission tomography-CT imaging of carotidynia.

Carotidynia is an idiopathic syndrome characterized by pain over the carotid bifurcation without associated luminal pathologic process. The classification of carotidynia as a distinct disease rather than as a symptom has generated controversy in the literature. Recent reports, however, suggest that carotidynia is a distinct disease characterized by the presence of enhancing soft tissue in the c...

Detection of distant metastases in patients with locally advanced breast cancer: role of 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography/computed tomography and conventional imaging with computed tomography scans

OBJECTIVE To evaluate positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) and conventional imaging tests for the detection of distant metastases in patients with locally advanced breast cancer. MATERIALS AND METHODS We included 81 patients with breast cancer who had undergone 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) PET/CT before treatment. Conventional imaging included the following: bone scintigr...
